The park is in severe moisture deficit right now. In the last few days it has snowed a bit nore than earlier in the year but no where near average. I can't link photos here any more but you can follow the link below to see a photo I took in Lamar Canyon on January 23.
I did a 2-day coach tour out of West just before I took that photo. We swung over to Canyon and Mud Volcano and then a few miles south from Madison Junction (then we stopped for the entire rest of the day to watch wolves) and it seems somewhat better but still obviously not up to par.
