Check out the link from the Montana Department of Transportation web site. While parts of the Beartooth Hwy are in Wyoming, Montana provides snow clearing on the Red Lodge side of the pass. The NPS handles the other side of the pass.
Make sure you watch the video that is linked from the page accessed via the link below. It gives current status as of last Friday, and it appears they may be providing daily updates. As of Friday, they were about one day behind their schedule. They might be able to make that up via good luck and overtime, depending on what the latest round of storms has done to the road up high.
greywolf might have access to "inside information" from the NPS. I don't know how much the MDT and NPS crews communicate with each other.
