Tough call on the best resort. We stayed 7 nights at one which is part of our travel club (it's really cool, 7 nights is just $250 for the week in a condo with full kitchen - Cobalt Coast Dive Resort), but we wanted to extend our stay a day prior and a day after. Plus it allows us to see more resort properties there too, we'll make Grand Cayman one of our go-to places, we'll probably go back again this year, we've already been twice. That said we plan on traveling much of the year, lots of other Caribbean islands, plus S. Pacific Islands too. I like white sand, coconut palms, and warm, clear water, a lot!
The Cobalt Coast Dive Resort is geared toward divers, we're just snorkelers right now due to the young age of our boys. But it's a nice resort, not a luxury place, good people, a restaurant and bar, good snorkeling off the shore, pool, etc. We're primarily there because it's part of our vacation club property. The Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort is really sweet, awesome beach along 7 Mile Beach, great pool, various restaurants, lots of activities, and fantastic service! The Grand Cayman Beach Suites has gorgeous rooms with great views down on the pool and the ocean and is also right on 7 Mile Beach. They're both nicer than the Cobalt Coast Dive Resort but there were also around $350-$400+ per night so 9 nights there would be an investment!
Right now Lauri is booking us at St. Maarten and Barbados. I'm eager to get my video camera on those jets coming into the airport right over the beach at St. Maarten, the YouTube videos on those get millions of views which is major ka-ching. Just 'nature' or 'vacation' type videos don't typically get huge views on YouTube.
By the way, what cologne are you wearing, it smells wonderful. Like a cowboy lawyer or something. Can I smell your neck?
