Buck,
The lighting under water is challenging, but can be resolved to a great extent using dive lights. Just don't skimp on quality trying to save money. I bought one cheap dive light years ago, and it didn't last one dive. There are plenty of high quality manufacturers out there, and photo/video quality is well worth the investment. My brother used to dive at Cozumel quite often. He had a high quality underwater camera, and spent the money for good lighting. His shots of the colorful coral in places like Palancar Gardens were amazing!
Of course, I recognize many of the fish in the video, because they look just like I remember them from my scuba days, because I wasn't diving with lights most of the time.
I was on Facebook years ago, but Hollywood types, like Beyonce and Mariah Carey started stalking me, so I bailed.
