We didn't HAVE to climb the observation tower to locate the post... but we did climb it.
This facility offers a wide range of activities and lodging choices. The park sits between Lincoln and Omaha, about 7 miles off the interstate.
Activities range from swimming at the pool to guided horseback trail rides through the timbered hills. You can rent a paddleboat to explore one of the lakes. At sunset, free campfire programs that change regularly are scheduled at the amphitheater.
Outdoor Heritage Education Complex accommodates several shooting disciplines, including an archery range, a 50-yard - small bore rifle range and an indoor 10 meter pellet gun range.
