This was the view from beside the post.

The marker down below marks the meeting place between Lewis and Clark and the Oto and Missouri Indians.

There has been a walking trail from the fort down to the bottom, but it was closed due to downed trees and mudslides.

The river could be seen way in the distance. At one time, it was right beside the meeting place at the bottom of the cliff.
