5:30 in the morning, a mauve sky. Baby possum under the Hosta
licking juice off a fermenting whole pineapple. City ordinance
against pineapple in the yard but it was discovered oozing all over
the counter last night. 6:00 AM now a salmon sky. The lady deer
strolls by on the sidewalk like one of my neighbors walking their
dog. 6:30 AM sun up and the neighbor, moving faster than the deer,
tugs the baby Schnauzer past some interesting smell. Patterns of a
city neighborhood.
