You can no longer hold a painting class in a national park unless you not only have a permit which costs I believe $800 but a rider on your insurance policy with the NPS as the beneficiary. Allegedly you can paint by yourself or with a couple of other painters, as long as no one is getting paid by the other artists for teaching. You also cannot use an umbrella because it is considered to big of a distraction.

Not sure if the two are connected, but I emailed Superintendent Wenk on the cracker bombing of this bear. She'd already lost 3 cubs last season and has already lost 2 cubs this year. I was pissed off by bear management and told him so. It may be unrelated, but I was painting near Tower last week and was asked to leave, since there are bears in the area. Duh....like I didn't know that. I'd hate to think I was targeted just because I emailed that Wenk about the cracker bombing two weeks ago.

According to the Jackson Hole Guide, to which I subscribe, the NPS is soliciting for more Asians to come to the parks. Sorry, but most all the problems I witnessed last week, were perpetrated by Asians. I don't think photographers are near as big of a problem as these folks, and the NPS wants more of them and less of artists and photographers. This country is totally whacked out.
