The T3i and 60d have the same sensor so you probably won't see any difference in quality of your pictures. The 60d does have a slightly faster shutter speed. Both have a much improved sensor than your XT. You will see a big improvement of your pics especially in lower light conditions by upgrading to the T3i or the 60d. That said better glass always makes a huge difference.
