A couple weeks ago, we drove to Paxton, just west of North Platte, to
Dave's brother's house. Dave's niece had gotten married in Las Vegas
on the 4th of July, and they were having a reception in their
vineyard the night of July 19th. Yes, I said "vineyard." When
Dave's mom died a few years ago, his brother took his inheritance,
and they started a vineyard. It is now producing... and it is
beautiful! They have over 20 rows of grapes, each row over 270 yards
long. They do not make wine, but they do sell their grapes to a local
winery that does. When we were there, the vines were LOADED with
grapes, but they weren't quite ripe yet.
