Trying to focus with a long lens on a pontoon boat for 8 people with strong winds is an experience! It's so odd to see this pictures because it looks as if that little island is right under the dam, when it's really quite a ways away.

Anyway.. the boat was full.. 8 of us plus the guide. Several people were turned away because they hadn't called early enough.

We only got about half of the tour because there were too many white caps.

The pelicans are late arriving this year just like the cranes were here. Last year at this time, there were over 10,000 pelicans on the lake. As of yesterday, there were about 1500. Probably because it has been cold so late this spring.

The lake is down 16 ft. from what it was before 2 years ago. We really need rain.. and snow in Colorado.
