Out of town is the Lyndon Johnson ranch and his boyhood home. I have to admit that we didn't stay long in Austin itself. I would recommend seeing the bats from the Congress Bridge (not sure if they are there in February) and going to the state capitol building.

We spent more time in San Antonio, and enjoyed it very much. Loved the Natural Bridge Caverns, the Alamo, the other missions, and the River Walk.
