Last weekend Mrs. Teewinot and I headed up to Mount Evans to get away from and above most of the Denver light pollution and do a little star gazing. I also wanted to try some astro-photography. This is along the shore of Echo Lake looking up towards Mount Evans with the Milky Way Galaxy filling the sky. Its also a photograph of a black hole (Sagittarius A) at the center of the Milky Way. I had tried this before with my D200 and was always disappointed. The sensor on this camera is significantly better.

ISO 3200, f4 @ 20 seconds, 12-24mm lens
