First off, I went with UHC who I had with COBRA The premiums weren't bad ($432/month) but the maxiumum out of pocket was $16,666 so I was pretty much forced to go to Colorado Connect (AHCA). The website sucked, so I had to call, and talked to one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. To be included you have to prepay and of course Blue Cross lost the check. Finally I get all that straightened out and they assigned me a doctor out of town because I hadn't signed up for a PCP because the website sucked. So then I got that straightened out so I could go to my own doctor. I haven't used it yet, and hope I don't have to, but it really wasn't a very pleasant experience. I do have to say however, that the premium is lower than UHC and the maxiumum out of pocket per year is $10,000 less. Also I have pre-existing conditions and am very grateful that people like me can't be denied coverage anymore.

I think the whole thing needs to be overhauled, I still think the insurance companies are probably making a fortune off this thing and that irritates me to no end. I can't believe the GOP supported this dog a few years ago, but again, I'm grateful to have insurance. I don't know how to fix 'it', but I think it needs major fixing!
