Pike was lost when he was in the Wichita Mountains because he was trying to find the Ouachita Mountains and the similarity in the pronunciations threw him. You may have facts but I have an opinion and we all know that opinion trumps facts any day of the week. Whoever heard of naming close regions with such similar names? Had to be a gubmint operation for sure.
