Over the past few weeks, I have found the page and glanced at a few times, finally a small chance to respond. Been gone over a year, pretty thin in posting the last 2 to three years. Life has been good but too busy. Hope to stop by a few more times though.
Been fighting health issues with my wife (I am fine). She had a kidney transplant May 2012, I give her one of mine in a miraculous match the Dr's. could not believe. She is on the pancreas transplant list - inactive for the moment due to health concerns, but is on an experimental treatment. The med bills due to cuts in health insurance have been quite high, but a second job helps. She has lived beyond what she would have without the transplant, and is in great spirits, works from home now, so life is good.
Two jobs, one as a full time teacher, the other as trainer for a local (international though) manufacturing company, Whelen Engineering. Also doing QA training and trouble shooting there. They make lights for emergency vehicles, aircraft, almost anything moving, and emergency warning systems for worldwide use. Exciting times, company has grown from 550 employees to just over 900 in three years at the local plant. The only 85% to 90% USA made emergency lights in the world. This takes probably 10 to 30 hours a week extra work, but it is a great place. I am fortunate to have two great jobs. Teaching is crazy busy, the new "Common Core" and all the stuff that goes with this is exhausting, but we do what we must to do what really counts, teaching the students.
Been golfing whenever I can get out, 9 handicap, help as a part of the management team of a member owned course. Golf courses are facing hard times, I spend a lot of time there playing and doing what I can. We are making it. Do what one loves. Both daughters on the verge of getting married, there goes my last 15 free minutes of any given day.
I have to be honest and say take my name off the Christmas card list. I was in and out for three weeks during last Christmas, could not answer cards. The same will be the case this year as vacations at the second job start and I fill in on my school vacation.
All is well. Just too busy, and when home, I am on the computer to work I hate to say. Tonight is an exception though, been meaning to post and catch up, seeing all is good with most of you, and prayers for those who need them!
