We went for a drive today... got out of town to do some sight-seeing. The plan was to see the eagles at Lake McConaughy. Well.... there were a few, maybe around twenty... and most couldn't be seen without a spotting scope. Not present in the numbers I have seen them there before, but it was still neat watching them swoop and soar. Getting a good picture was totally out of the question. Probably not worth the over 200 mile one-way drive...

We headed back to Ogallala and went to the Petrified Wood Gallery. In all of our travels, we had never gone through it before. What a gem! A great find.....
