The newest trick by ATT, besides dropping 30% of all calls in Bozeman and crossing connections at least three times a month is most clever:
Billing Date..............February 28
Due Date..................March 15
Mailing date of bill..............disguised by virtue of prepaid non-cancellable preprinted envelopes.
(Postman certifies the bill was delivered March 26)
Interest charge .................$38.000
Their defense.................you can't prove we didn't mail it on time (Because of preprinted envelopes that is true)
So let's see, $38 a month times about 10,000 users....very clever internal financing.
So I check in with ATT local and their answer is brilliant. Just give us your credit card number and you won't have these problems. That is what this scam is all about. Direct withdrawal from your credit card.

If you use ATT, take a look at the mailing envelope they use. There is no dating upon it. Very very clever
