This made the local news last night. The video is posted on YouTube, and both the local newspaper and NBC affiliate have links to it on their websites.

Supposedly, this whale showed up unexpectedly, and surfaced a number of times, much to the surprise of the few humans present. Word got out that evening, and the next day, a whole bunch of folks showed up, hoping for a whale sighting close up. Unfortunately, the whale was a no show.
