I have been there 3 times. Twice had flat tires.
Saw desert elk, wild horses and pictographs, Boar's tusk. Got seriously lost once. It is has been 5 years since the last trip so don't know road conditions now. Take extra food and water just in case. Love the place but it may have been ruined with fracking. It is north of Rock Springs. Stop at trading post in Farston's for huge ice cream cones. Go to Pinedale and see the lateral moraines and drive up past them to trail head for great views. Stay at the Rivera Lodge in Pinedale for a great breakfast by the river Sunday
morning during the summer.
