Thanks for sharing that report. It must be quite odd to be alone on that stretch of road.
Roosevelt is closed for this season, so I lost the first four days of my fall reservations. Cam Sholly says they may only open cabins with bath, not the hotels - at least at first. Right now, in addition to Roosevelt, Grant Village and the Old Faithful Inn will not open this year.
The info on the Xanterra web site changes almost daily, with online-only reservations for 2021 pushed back to June 1.
I'll wait to see how things are going in late July before deciding whether to make my early September trip. It might be a good time to see the park without hoards of Asian tourists - like the old days. But how do you social distance on a boardwalk when a popular geyser is erupting?
