We've mostly avoided the area even before "pandemia" took over our lives, it's been months since I was down there. But the elevated causeway is cause for celebration as it will restore natural exchange of water between the creek/sloughs and the lake if and when it's ever finished. The couple of times I went through there last year the size and scope of the job was clear. Driving pilings big and strong enough to support a huge amount of vehicular traffic and withstand the vicissitudes of water flow and weather deep into the substrate below was MAJOR.
