Was it announced? I was doing a little checking on him, I know he
had the website griztrax.net, nothing came up, I Googled him,
Griztrax, aka Dave Landreth, not much out there but I found an
article/interview that someone reposted and said RIP Dave Landreth, I
think Feb of 2025. Very sad. He was a good guy, salty, said it how
it was, he was a the manly version of authentic environmentalism, not
the whiny liberal coffee-drinking angry type that had multi-colored
clothing or hair. He grew up tough in the Appalachians since he was
a kid, spent his life roaming wild places int the Appalachians and
Rockies with a special fondness for Yellowstone grizzlies. We had
our differences but a mutual respect getting out to remote places. I
had that with Bud Musgrove too, differing worldviews but could bond
over our respective wild adventures. Sometimes my thoughts go to
Loon characters from days of old, I'll miss you griztrax. Thanks for
sharing your stories and passion for wild places.
