Any Loons going to the park in September? I arrive on the 9th, staying 5 nights at Old Faithful, then one night at Mammoth before heading up to Gardiner for 4 nights.
I'm signed up for a Yellowstone Forever program called "The Yellowstone Volcano" - presented by the incomparable Mike Poland. He is the scientist-in-charge of the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory. (The class is not full yet if anyone is interested.)
On the 19th I head for Lake for two nights and then back to Grand Junction on the 21st.
A bit of history. In September, 2017 I made a pilgrimage to Allison Lake in a blinding snowstorm to see that fabled area. What an amazing place. (Tall waterproof hiking boots saved my feet.)
My last Loon meetup was on June 9, 2018 where I had lunch with the group while missing an eruption of Giant Geyser that I had been watching and waiting for 2 days to see!
