There was one, and only one, and our first one, otter there late last month!!! I didn't get a photo but Kevin did, perhaps if he ever gets his photos onto a computer I can document it for you!! His shot will just show a surprisingly long dark body against a brightly lighted log with green and yellow gr@ss on it, where all the otters shots at Trout Lake I've ever seen were taken. From where we were standing (just about where the new trail enters the trail around the lake now) we could also see some dude standing in the woods on the shore getting what I'm sure were wonderful photos.

As soon as the otter finished posing for the lucky guy he slipped back into the water and though we waited quite a while by the gr@ssy log he didn't reappear. Various theories have it that he went back down the outlet, or that he went up the inlet to Buck Lake. Or aliens were so excited to see an otter there that they abducted him.
