Yesterday, we drove about 2 hours to get to Republican City.. and
Harlan County Reservoir. Every year, they celebrate the arrival of
the pelicans the last week of March/first week of April. They have
free boat rides on the lake to see the pelicans. I've wanted to do
it for awhile.. but it never fit in our schedule.. This year, we
made it work.

Republican City is a very small town.. population sign says 150.
No restaurant.. no grocery store.. no store of any kind unless you
count the little flea market that is only open between Memorial Day
and Labor Day.

There are a few other shops that are open during the summer, too..
however... it's not summer yet.

There is one little filling station/cafe/bar that we did locate a
bathroom in! (The sign on the bathroom door said for customers
only... luckily we had time before the boat tour for a hamburger.)

By the time we had gotten our sandwiches, it was time to head to
the marina...
