No to the brine - just baked a turkey breast in a cooking bag.
Yes to the stuffing, but we call it dressing and it's baked outside of the bird. Homemade, of course. Loooove it.
Pumpkin cheesecake.
This was the first time I had to make a Thanksgiving dinner in many, many years. It was just me, Dennis and his sister. Dennis's Mom passed away on Nov. 5 and his sister has no other family, so we had her here and it was a very nice quiet day. She brought the pumpkin cheesecake, which was good, BUT our family tradition is pumpkin chiffon pie. I may have to make that around Christmas this year since I didn't have it for Thanksgiving.
Normally, we go to my sister's house in Pennsylvania. Well, she works for Walmart and this year she had to go full time. She is the sister whose husband broke his neck back in April. Anyway, she had to work on Thanksgiving Day. Sucked. I missed our usual trip to PA.
