I just got back from AZ. I took this picture in San Tan Mountain Regional Park near Queen Creek. We were just starting out our hike and this was the first thing we saw. It perched just long enough for me to get a hand held telephoto shot. I think it's an American Kestrel. They are known to inhabit this park. I could be wrong on the identification though.
