the book you recommended by Bryce Andrews. It has been some weeks ago and I lost track of the notes I made for feedback to you, sorry. Anyway, thanks for for the recommendation, it was a great book! The author easily went from practical ranch work to sublime descriptions of the area. I never knew so much about fencing until I read that book! Also, he has a gift of showing every side of the wolf situation, including that of the wolf. And he did that beautifully. Anyone who is totally one-sided would not enjoy this book.

The other book you spoke of, Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher about the photographer Edward Curtis, seemed facinating but could not hold me before I needed to return it to the library...maybe another time. I did like reading about the old indian princess, Angeline, and her last years in the shantytown in the south part of Seattle. Although she died before my Dad was born near there, I imagine he heard stories of her as they passed by the area to their stall in the early Pike Street Market.

Thanks for bringing these books to my attention.
