I knew something about the bristlecone pines, but nothing whatsoever about Wheeler Peak or the caves. The furthest I've been into the desert was the Ruby Range to the north, where we worked on pony express stations.

Much as I hate giving up griddling Mr' Fink's article, we are using it for a good purpose, finding out about places we had previously underestimated, or hadn't even known about.
