The Chamise thickets were some of the hottest burned areas. These white flowers were most common around these areas and much more plentiful than pre-burn. The Chamise grow back from the roots, as do Manzanita, Oak, and many others. Large Oaks may have all their twigs and small branches burned off, but new sprouts will grow from the larger limbs.
