I was very fortunate to meet John for the first time at Bristol Speedway. What fun that was! John knew Dennis and I were NASCAR fans and made sure we got to a race. It's something I will never forget. He was right. Seeing a race in person is so much different. Feeling, not just hearing, the engines roar was amazing.
The second time I met John was when Dennis and I drove down to Washington, D.C. to meet up with John and Patti for dinner while they were in town. It was great to finally put a face with Patti, the love of John's life. Again, a great time.
We will miss you, John. Your friendship meant a lot to many of us. Rest easy, my friend.
