I hope I didn't jinx these parks.
Actually, the decision had probably been made late yesterday way up high on the Beltway. We know that Cam Sholly said yesterday that Yellowstone was staying open. Since we now know that the gateway counties in both Montana and Wyoming went to their governors and congressional delegations, it is likely that the decision was rendered at DOI or even above that.
The Cooke City residents, the FedEx driver, the UPS driver, and whoever hauls the mail are going to have the road between the North Entrance and the Northeast Entrance to themselves. I guess there will be fuel trucks, the occasional light truck hauling restaurant supplies, and potentially, repair people servicing things that break in Cooke City and Silver Gate.
