I met Dave and John Uhler in the Lamar Valley in 1998/1999. We stood on the side of the mountain above the Lamar and cussed and discussed the politics of Yellowstone. We didn't get much solved but I made a couple of good friends for life. RIP, Dave. You will be missed.
