Pat,
I can't imagine how difficult and painful it must have been to be able to see your husband, but not hold him or touch him.
Your view may be clouded by a torrent of tears, but with your inner strength, the passage of time, and the support of family, friends, and Loon friends, that view will gradually be restored.
I do hope you have family and friends close by to be of assistance in coping with the waves of grief and sadness that are likely washing over you.
Know we are wishing you an improving view from your window over time, and the comfort that personal connections bring. You have many Yellowstone Loons sharing in your sorrow (including Lurkers -- they are out there, and they care. It never ceases to amaze me how many there are.)
