I have been using a Sigma 50-500 for years for wildlife. But the past fall in
Yellowstone I was getting out of my van to take a photo of the moon rising over the
terraces at Mammoth. I thought the lens was locked into my tripod head but it
wasn t. So as I lifted the tripod, my camera and Sigma lens hit the pavement from
about my shoulder height. I cringed and thought Oh ____ . I picked it up and it
looked fine and worked ok for the rest of the trip. But I got it out last week to take
some photos on ducks on the lake here. And it will not focus. Not on AF or MF. I
thought it was the connection. So I took it off the camera, put it back on and the AF
worked once. But stopped. So i ordered a new 150-600 to replace it. Should have
it next week.
