Such a rookie, ha ha!

We have an XLR Thunderbolt 5th wheel toy hauler, it's a beast, 42' with a 14' garage. I got it for the same reasons you mentioned in your post, as a mobile studio. We can take our 4-seater RZR (which is the main reason I needed a 14' garage), all my video equipment, jibs, sliders, dollies, all kinds of toys and props for our video productions. Buying it for that purpose, we usually boondock off-grid for a week or two. The beast is not as good for taking long trips to various locations because you can't just stop anywhere or stay anywhere or pull off the road in a town and grab lunch at a cafe, or a cup of coffee. There's over 60' of rig counting my F350 dually. We still do it now and then, but it's primarily for a mobile studio. Right now I'm looking at Black Series off-road trailers for more remote access and easier to fit anywhere type camping. But I'm also planning a lot of old fashioned backpacking trips this summer too.

This video from a couple of years ago briefly shows how we use it more for hauling stuff for video productions.
