Mammoth to Hitching Post: Hot. dusty with road rpair and many gravel trucks. One panting coyote, Bison aplenty. Pebble Creek was a cool, bubbling resort. Swallows about done in their clay tunnel nests over the bathroom houses at hitching post.

Only one car-parked-in road and that was an anglo family with no apologies and care less atttitude.

Many many many bears Tower to Roosevelt Ranger JK was being tormented by a TOURON who bad mouthed him and seemed to relish the chance to display his ignorance and attitude toward park rangers.

Lava creek still being eroded away and tree fall is apparent.

AND the rock road slide area going toward the hoodoos is showing some severe buckling. Now that could be a real problem if the road slides away again.

All in all................April May is still best.
